13 Dreams is a collection of dreams from June 1 to June 13, that is the duration of the Rattlesnake Bells in the Desert show at the Box gallery. The work started as a life performance for a specific duration, documenting the state of mind between the conscious and the unconscious. I performed reading these dreams in public on the 13th day as a way to validate the simulacrum of reality. These dreams were an enquiry into the self to understand the effects of migration, living as the other in the first world country, and understanding corporeal attachments to the natural world. These dreams were particularly written in English as an evidence of hybridized culture, for the American audience—while my own mother tongue has lost its script.
