traces through labyrinth

2014

performance, video (single channel, sound)

Humans have progressed through civilizations. They have continuously evolved from hunting animals and living in small groups to making satellites and developing cities. This wouldn’t have been possible without tracing the development of the past. ‘Traces through Labyrinth’ is a performance where I leave a trail of small pieces of coal through the labyrinth of urban space as I walk, leaving marks to trace back to the past. Coal takes several thousand years to form and hence, it signifies a long history and age. Over the ages, the Earth has exhausted itself leading to global warming. ‘Traces through Labyrinth’ emphasizes on our conscious need to trace back to the sustainable practices of living.
